Net Impact Board Fellows

The Darden Net Impact Board Fellows program provides second year Darden students with the opportunity to serve on the board of a local Charlottesville nonprofit. Students serve as non-voting members and gain hands-on experience in nonprofit management and governance while sharing their valuable business skills.

Participating nonprofits benefit Charlottesville community...

  • Youth programs
  • Wildlife conservation efforts
  • Education programs
  • Health resources
  • Animal rescue initiatives
  • Art programs
  • And more!

The Board Fellows program also hosts an annual conference where UVA and Darden professors, as well as experts in the community, share best practices and strategic insights with nonprofit leaders about board management, fundraising strategies, talent acquisition, and other topics that benefit nonprofit operations.

Students are invited to apply to be a Board Fellow in the spring of their first year and are matched with nonprofits based on their interests and experiences, as well as the needs of the nonprofits.
