MBA - Tuition and Financial Aid - Competitive Scholarships - Lemuel E. Lewis Bicentennial Award

Lemuel E. Lewis Bicentennial Award for Global Leadership

The Lemuel E. Lewis Bicentennial Scholars Fund for Global Leadership was established by Lemuel E. Lewis (MBA ’72) in April 2018 to support students at the School who demonstrate, promote and foster a global perspective and deep understanding of other beliefs and cultures including the religious, political, economic and social context in which they exist. This scholarship supports both a Second Year Award and a First Year Scholarship awarded to students at the School who have demonstrated interests and activities to increase inclusiveness among various economic, political, religious and social groups.

First Year Students

The Office of Admissions will identify and nominate candidates, based on standard criteria for admission to the School, in addition to the specific criteria for this Scholarship. A selection committee that includes student affinity club leaders and involves a select group of faculty and staff will review and select nominees. The selected applicant will receive notice of the scholarship offer, along with his or her offer of admission.

Second Year Students

The Office of Student Affairs will send out a ‘call for nominations’ to faculty, staff and students, who may then nominate candidates, based on the criteria for this award. The students who are nominated for this award will be asked to submit a response to an essay question as part of the review process. A selection committee that includes the student affinity club leaders and involves a select group of faculty and staff will review resumes and essays and selects finalists who are invited to interview for the award. The selected recipient will be presented with the award at a special First Coffee ceremony.
