Meghan R. Murray is a professor of practice with experience in a number of strategic and managerial roles across several industries, including startups, Fortune 100 corporations, and in university administration.

Murray has been an instructor at Darden since 2012. She also served in executive administrative roles in the University of Virginia's democracy-focused units from 2015 to 2024. At the University, she oversaw things such as strategic planning, board development, finance, IT, HR, marketing, personnel, and public events.

She brings more than twenty years of business experience to the classroom, specializing in business strategy, online marketing, business development, and operational oversight at organizations such as Gap Inc. and Fannie Mae. Murray is the founder of a consulting firm, Stynson, and also runs several agricultural businesses.  The firm’s projects include retail, financial services, real estate, energy, healthcare, food, media, and fine arts. Stynson clients range from Kellogg’s to the U.S. Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority.

Murray has a passion for nonprofit management and startup businesses, which she commits time to outside of the classroom. In her early career, she worked in political and policy-related capacities, including as a Press Officer in the British House of Commons and political roles in Washington, D.C. and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Murray lives on and manages a farm outside of Charlottesville, Virginia. She also supports her community through board service at organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Virginia and the Anne & Gene Worrell Foundation. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia (B.A., government) and the University of Oxford (MBA).
