Before joining academia, Palomba served as a research manager at Ipsos, leading and supporting projects for clients such as HBO, Facebook, Fox Sports 1, CNN, Sesame Street, and NBCUniversal/Comcast. During his doctoral studies, he collaborated with Nielsen to examine how millennials consume and engage with entertainment and media products and services.
His thought leadership has been featured in more than 50 media outlets, including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Quartz, The Verge, Yahoo! Finance, and CNN. Palomba is a Television Academy Foundation TV Fellow, a NATPE Media Fellow, and a recipient of Darden’s Outstanding Faculty Award, the Emerald Literati Outstanding Paper Award, Poets & Quants’ 40 Under 40 Best MBA Professors, and the Batten Faculty Fellowship.
Outside of work, Palomba is an avid college sports fan (Syracuse Orange, Florida Gators, and Virginia Cavaliers), writer, and gym enthusiast. He enjoys reading 10-K filings, listening to media investor calls, watching television and film, and attending stand-up comedy and theater performances. A native New Yorker, he also has a deep appreciation for smooth jazz and Italian cuisine
