Alumni - Reunion

The health and safety of our alumni, faculty, staff and students is foremost in our mids. The safety of gathering together — a key element of reunions —  still remains uncertain. While UVA President Jim Ryan and University leaders announced last week that UVA intends to start in-person classes in August, safety and health concerns will be paramount, social distancing will be in place and larger classes will remain online all semester.

Given these circumstances and out of an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to postpone the celebration of your reunion to 23-25 April 2021, alongside the next reunion classes. This decision aligns with the recommendation of the UVA Alumni Association.

Who is invited back to Darden Reunion Weekend on 23–25 April 23–25, 2021?

Classes that will celebrate a reunion in 2021 include 0s, 5s, 1s, 6s, 2019 and 2020. This includes the classes who would have celebrated their reunion in 2020, as well as all classes that were originally scheduled to celebrate a graduation milestone in 2021.

Will the Inn at Darden be open?

We do not expect the Inn at Darden to be open in April 2021.

Will there be enough hotel rooms and venue spaces to accommodate both groups?

We have added extra room blocks for 2021 to help accommodate the extra additional number of guests traveling to Charlottesville. The UVA School of Medicine Reunion Weekend typically occurs on the same weekend as Darden Reunion Weekend; however, in 2021, Darden and the School of Medicine will hold their events on different weekends. We are taking advantage of this extra capacity for hotel blocks and venue space! We always recommend making travel arrangements early to take advantage of the reduced rates offered in these hotel blocks.

Will there be any class-specific events?

Please check your class page for details on your class-specific events.

My reunion was rescheduled from 2020 to 2021. How will my philanthropic support of Darden count toward my class reunion giving total?

The Darden Reunion Giving recognition period for classes ending in 0 and 5 has been extended through 30 September 2020. Any gift or pledge made to Darden between now and 30 September 2020 will be recognized as part of your class reunion giving total. We look forward to celebrating reunion giving results at the April 2021 reunion.

How can I stay engaged with classmates until reunion weekend?

You can find your classmates’ contact information using the Alumni Directory, and sign up for upcoming virtual events via our Alumni Events Calendar.

How can I support the Darden community during this time?

There are several ways you can support students, other alumni and the School, such as:

Reunion Giving

Reunion giving allows classes to align philanthropy to impact the future of the School and honor its legacy of excellence.

The Darden Annual Fund serves as the foundation for reunion giving and provides critical support that enables the School to remain innovative, invest in top strategic priorities and respond nimbly to emerging opportunities. Gifts to the annual fund are the best way to help the School navigate the unprecedented challenges presented by the coronavirus pandemic. Click here to learn more and make a gift.

If you are interested in making a commitment above and beyond your support of the Darden Annual Fund, please contact Whitney Wilson, director of reunion giving, at +1-434-924-0706.

Given the uncertainty we face, the recognition period for 2020 Reunion Giving has been extended through 30 September. If you are able to make your reunion gift in advance of the fiscal year end on 30 June 2020, we hope that you will do so. We look forward to celebrating reunion giving results during the April 2021 reunion.

  • Pricing & Refunds

Thank you for your commitment to attend Reunion weekend! We hope you value the opportunity to reengage with the School, Darden faculty and your classmates and that you find the experience well worth the investment.

We are pleased to offer a la carte pricing for Reunion weekend activities to allow flexibility for alumni with competing work or personal schedules. Pay only for the activities that you and your family are able to attend. In addition, a la carte registration allows Darden to minimize costs because exact numbers are reported to caterers.

Full pricing information is available on the registration form.

Registration fees are nonrefundable after 5 p.m. EDT on 9 April 2021, when guarantee numbers are due to caterers. Until then, please submit your refund request in writing to the Office of Engagement at or call +1-434-243-8977 with any questions.
