International Recruiting

Darden’s world-class international students bring experience from top multinational companies around the globe, are graduates of premier international universities, and possess incredible knowledge of global and regional markets.

Meet Darden’s World-Class International Students

International students make up approximately 30 percent of the Darden student body, representing three dozen or more countries per class. These students seek opportunities in the U.S. and abroad and are authorized to work in the U.S. for summer and full-time employment with Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT).

If you or your company has questions regarding recruiting international students, please contact Denise Karaoli, director of international student careers.

Hiring International Students for US Positions

Curricular Practical Training and Optional Practical Training

International students on F-1 status are authorized to work in the United States for summer internships by using Curricular Practical Training (CPT), and one year of full-time employment after graduation by using Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Designated STEM Degree

The Darden MBA degree is an accredited STEM-certified degree. International students may work for up to three years in the U.S., provided the position for which they are hired relates to their STEM degree. Darden’s STEM OPT is an excellent opportunity for U.S. employers to hire talented international graduates.

H-1B Visa Sponsorship

Employment authorization, with company H-1B visa sponsorship, is possible for up to six additional years without gaps in employment. The H-1B visa petition process does not require proving there is no U.S. candidate that qualifies for the position.
